Our sourcing standards put four gates between a Shenzhen factory and your purchase order before volume ships.
Why sourcing standards matter
Guangdong computing-hardware factories are booked into next year, so availability is not a given—it has to be verified at the production-schedule level before a purchase order is placed. Without a documented vetting path, buyers face delays, substituted components, or certification gaps that surface only after freight lands.
DC Power treats sourcing standards as an inspection sequence, not a marketing promise. Each factory must pass document review, on-site audit, sample acceptance, and pilot-order performance before we route volume orders through Shenzhen.

Document audit
We verify business licenses, export permits, and certification files, including UL 62368-1 for PDU/PSU, UL 857 for busway, and UN38.3 for battery shipping.
Factory audit
Auditors walk the floor to confirm booked capacity, line setup, and whether the plant can hold tolerances for high-current connectors such as C13 10A, C19 16A, and C21 16A hot condition.
Sample + acceptance
Samples are tested against the specification before approval. Billing-grade PDU metering must read within ±1%, and busway samples must align with IEC 61439-6 type-tested ratings up to 6300 A.
Pilot then volume
A small pilot order is released first. Only after the pilot passes inspection and tariff routing review do we move to volume, helping to block surprises like the 46.6% US tariff on Chinese dry-type transformers.

What inspectors check
Inspection stations focus on build quality that matters for AI and colocation power: proper torque marks, correct silkscreen, connector retention, and clean separation of high-current paths. A single weak connection can cascade in high-density racks that now cross 120 kW per cabinet.
Every inspector follows a checklist tied to the order, not a generic walkthrough. That includes the 48V ORv3 architecture for GPU trays and server power supplies such as the HPE 3200W M-CRPS Titanium unit with 96% efficiency at half load.
