Program planning
- 1. Freeze modular power architecture before pulling vendor quotes so busway, PDU, and BBU scope is comparable.
- 2. Reserve transformer and busway production slots 18–24 months ahead to avoid 160-week lead times.
- 3. Specify connectors and metering at the RFI stage: C13 10 A, C19 16 A, C21 16 A hot condition.
- 4. Run qualification samples in parallel with site civil work; do not sequence type testing after construction.
Vibration and temperature
Rail environments punish every connection. Cabinets mounted in traction wayside or underframe positions see constant vibration, thermal cycling, and dust ingress; connectors and busbar joints must survive without torque relaxation.
